Marlborough House Garden was built as a town mansion by Sir Christopher Wren, and still possesses much of the extent and layout of its original garden. It was commissioned by the first Duke of Marlborough but the idea for a town house was that of Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough, who secured the lease of the site from Queen Anne.

Together with Folly View Road at the top end, which was built later in the 60's, it now forms a new link road that connects Park Road to Fernham Road. Marlborough House on Pall Mall in London is the international headquarters of the Commonwealth Secretariat and Commonwealth Foundation. The house was built for Sarah Churchill, first Duchess of Marlborough, and was completed in 1711. It later became a Royal Palace and over the centuries Dowager Queens, Princes, Dukes and Duchesses have stayed.

Visitors to Marlborough House can also see Queen Mary's thatched revolving summer house and the Royal pet cemetery of Queen Alexandra.
